ASUS P8Z68-V INTEL RAPID STORAGE TECHNOLOGY DRIVER
Thanks for the link to the RAID discussion. I read through it, and respect his position, especially since he has data to back it up. I would like to offer my opinions on RAID.
I know tone can be hard to carry across in text, but I'm only expressing my opinion, and I'm not attacking you. It turned out it tried to boot from my external USB drive.
I went into my Asus P8Z68-V Intel Rapid Storage Technology Bios I dont think I could see it at all until I actually turned off the computer and on again In the list where I could drag and drop it I never found it again, but on the right side of that list there is also F8 Boot options and in that list I could find it, strange. Anyway I clicked on it and windows loaded as normal and started correctly puh!
I still couldnt see the drive where I "should" be but it still was in that other boot list. After I did this the computer always loaded from the SSD as it should and I couldnt be bothered with it at this moment.
I have to note here for the readers Im 35 years old and started with computer when I was 8 so Im pretty experienced. Now, for those who have no idea what a cache is for, you should know that most modern processors come with different amounts of cache, with even a hierarchy of caches, like L1 and L2. The system can leave this data in many areas, like system memory or the hard drive. But it's usually much faster to access the cache on the Asus P8Z68-V Intel Rapid Storage Technology faster due to the fact that it uses higher speed RAM and also, for the case of the cache on the Asus P8Z68-V Intel Rapid Storage Technology, located very close to the processor. However, the amount of cache on a processor is limited due to the relatively small size of the processor, and is hence, a very expensive computing resource.

And that's all there is to it. The 20GB array now fully functions and is active as cache, plus you have a separate SSD partition fully up and running and working tremendously well. They will be very affordable and offer a nice chunk of performance.
So this unit was developed specifically for this SRT and will be cheap, since its capacity is rather small in itself. But you can use any SSD you like of course.
