The Acer customer Service in Texas has replaced the scanner and it works much better that there is even new out of the box so it probably wasn't the first day. ProDock specifications state that it requires a 90 Watt Acer TravelMate P645-SG EgisTec Fingerprint supply to work properly.

The power adapter supplied with the P is 65 Watts. Looking for all the description and pictures I could find of the ProDock, none show or even suggest a like power adapter included with the dock. Furthermore, Acer does not apparently a power separate from 90 watts Acer TravelMate P645-SG EgisTec Fingerprint this dock - sell adapters of only 65 watts as the one I currently have.

Acer TravelMate P645-SG EgisTec Fingerprint am pleased to announce that the ProDock II includes the 90 Watt power supply as I had hoped, and as suggested by the responses in this thread. The box and seal had dedicated compartments for each component, including the docking station, processing power adapter to 2 parts and a manual. The adapter closely resembles the one supplied with the TravelMate both are made by Chiconyalthough the segment that connects the pier has a thicker cord and transformer feels heavier. Food indeed indicates a 90 watts of power, so probably wouldn't be confused with the TravelMate adapter when plug it directly into the laptop could damage it. On the other hand, the Canon plugs can be slightly different and effectively that refuse to perform. I don't check this detail, however, prior to this announcement.

Though durable, the system has no ambitions to ruggedness—unlike the MIL-SPEC-tested Lenovo Ts—so don't expect features like spill-resistance or functionality in extreme temperatures. The screen has a matte finish to keep reflections and glare to a minimum, and good but not great viewing angles; I noted some color shifting when viewed from anything past a degree angle. The display has no touch capability, but seeing as the system is running Windows 7 Pro—which never had the sort of touch usability offered by Windows 8—this is no real loss.
The accompanying keyboard is fairly basic, with chiclet-style keys and backlighting that can be turned on and off, but not adjusted for brightness. The keycaps allow a lot of light leakage around each key, but it's no more than a minor irritation. The touchpad has a lightly-textured, matte finish, but the unique feature is the integrated fingerprint that sits between the right and left mouse buttons. Along with Acer's own ProShield software suite, it lets you easily log into the system, secure encrypted files on the hard drive, and provide a measure of safety for sensitive data and network access with the simplicity of swiping your finger across the sensor.
